Silo block with expansion possibilities for global feed producer
Context
De Heus Nederland and SCE have an established track record of collaboration. As De Heus continues its global growth in the cattle feed sector, SCE provides project-based support across various countries, from the Netherlands to Vietnam. This close cooperation also shaped the development of a new facility in Kendice, Slovakia.

From demolition to expansion
In 2018, De Heus acquired an old factory in Kendice, which was demolished to make way for a new plant. Just a year later, SCE installed a large silo block for the new factory, already designed to allow for future expansion. Due to rapid production ramp-up, the need for additional capacity followed sooner than expected. In 2021, an extra 716 m³ of storage was added.
Seamless integration and strategic growth
Because SCE had delivered the initial silos, both the design and installation of the extension proceeded efficiently. SCE handled the project supervision, the steel structure, and the connection to the existing silos. The new setup added 20 bulk silos to the original 24, enhancing the site’s truck-filling capabilities. The silos feature a mix of smooth and profiled walls and are equipped with SCE’s patented mass flow hoppers. With accurate engineering and careful preparation, the expanded silo block was delivered on time and within budget. The site remains open for further growth and serves as a strategic hub for reaching both the Polish and Hungarian markets.
