Flour Milling

Explore how we tailor our integrated storage solutions to the flour milling industry.

Tailored solutions

Our hygienic and food-safe solutions make us a trusted partner for the flour milling industry worldwide.

We support your flour milling process

In flour milling, storage isn’t just about holding product. It’s about controlling flow, ensuring hygiene, and maintaining product quality at every stage. At SCE, we design bin solutions that support your process from start to finish.

It all starts with hygiene

No dead space

The square design of our bins allows them to be placed directly next to each other, eliminating dead space where dust, product, or pests could accumulate.

Food safe powder coating

Our powder coating provides a food-safe finish that meets the highest hygiene standards for storing consumable products. It also enhances durability, making silo walls more resistant to scratches, flaking, and other damage that could compromise cleanliness or product safety.

Clean bin tops

Silo tops are sealed in a hygienic, dust-free way using reinforced steel plates that form a strong, safe working floor above the cells.

Have a question or a project in mind?

  1. 1

Even tempering starts with smart bin design

Before grinding, grain needs time to absorb water and reach the desired moisture level. To control this tempering time, it’s crucial to respect first in first out (FIFO) principle, only then can the correct moisture level for the grains be guaranteed.

SCE tempering bins are completely smooth inside and can be equipped with either a butterfly hopper or a multiple outlet hopper to ensure FIFO and avoid irregular tempering.

  2. 2

Flour bins engineered for hygiene and flow

Flour is sensitive to both contamination and moisture. That’s why our flour bins are engineered for maximum hygiene and mass flow. They’re completely smooth inside and outside, and are equipped with double walls to avoid condensation.

Our patented 70° butterfly hopper ensures mass flow, as it exceeds the angle of repose of flour. In addition each corner is fitted with an R250 rounded plate to make sure no flour can settle in the corners of the silo.

  3. 3

    Bran bins that prevent bridging

Bran is light, flaky, and prone to bridging, which can disrupt flow and cause contamination of goods. To minimise this risk, our bran bins are fitted with decompression noses that support consistent discharge. Still, best practice requires regular movement of the product to keep the flow active and stable.
